Entries open for Totalsports Xterra Buffelsport and Grabouw

Entries for both the Buffelspoort (26 and 27 January 2013) and Grabouw (23 and 24 February 2013) legs of the TOTALSPORTS XTERRA presented by REHIDRAT® SPORT will open on Monday, 23 July 2012.
In 2012, for the first time since its inception, the TOTALSPORTS XTERRA SA Championship presented by REHIDRAT® SPORT was celebrated over a two day period with the XTERRA Lite taking place on the Saturday followed by the XTERRA Full on the Sunday.
According to Michael Meyer, Director of Stillwater Sport & Entertainment, this new format was so well received that the decision has been made to do the same at the Buffelspoort XTERRA in 2013. “We are very excited by this initiative.
By holding the XTERRA Lite and the XTERRA Full on two different days we are not only able to accept more entrants per event, but each event will get the recognition and support that it deserves. The only difference with XTERRA Bufflespoort is that the XTERRA Full will be held on the Saturday, while the XTERRA Lite will be held on the Sunday. XTERRA warriors and supporters can look forward to a weekend filled with excitement,” says Meyer.
ENTRIES ARE NOW OPEN for the TOTALSPORTS XTERRA Buffelspoort Dam (Saturday, 26 and Sunday, 27 January 2013) and TOTALSPORTS XTERRA Grabouw (Saturday, 23 and Sunday, 24 February 2013).

TOTALSPORTS XTERRA Buffelspoort Dam
XTERRA Warriors taking on the TOTALSPORTS XTERRA Buffelspoort Dam presented by REHIDRAT® SPORT can look forward to swimming in the pristine mountain waters of the Magaliesberg. The mountain bike route will include diverse combination of quick and challenging single track, a rock garden, thick sand track, serious climbs up jeep track and a fun and winding single track descent through indigenous bushveld with spectacular views.

Event Format: TOTALSPORTS XTERRA Full: 1.5km swim, 27km mountain bike and 12km trail run
Date: Sunday, 27 January 2013
Venue: Buffelspoort Dam, North West Province
Event Format: New Balance 6km and 12km Trail Run
TOTALSPORTS XTERRA Lite: 400m swim, 17km mountain bike and 6km trail run
TOTALSPORTS XTERRA Grabouw
The TOTALSPORTS XTERRA Grabouw presented by REHIDRAT® SPORT takes the form of the South African Championship, which in turn forms part of the XTERRA World Tour. Athletes competing at this event stand the chance to qualify for the world championship final in Hawaii later the year.

TOTALSPORTS XTERRA Lite - 400m swim, 12.5km mountain bike and 5km trail run

Event Format: TOTALSPORTS XTERRA Full - 1.5km swim, 25km mountain bike and 10km trail run
